Farmers Markets

On 19th September from 9 – 2pm, Lymm will host its first Farmers Market at Lymm Youth & Community Centre

Taking place on the 3rd Sunday of the month, we hope these monthly events will host a great selection of stalls, offering a range of local and seasonal produce.

Refreshments will be served and the market will accompanied by our usual Sunday Afternoon Teas continuing until 4pm, so you can stick around and enjoy sandwiches or a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake after your shopping.

If you are interested in holding a stall or would like to find out more, please contact Neville Davies on 01925 755757.

Raise Funds with Sunday Teas

Did you know that Lymm Youth & Community Centre opens up every Sunday afternoon from 2 – 4.30pm, offering up tea, coffee and delicious cakes?

So far, the teas have been popular with locals and visitors alike, helping to make Lymm a welcoming place to visit on a Sunday. Right next to the beautiful Bridgewater Canal, the centre is the only tea room open on a Sunday and visitors stop from all over the country to enjoy a drink and some tasty home-made cakes.

Every weekend, visitors leave positive comments in our visitor book, often saying how the teas are “much needed after a nice Sunday stroll”, complimenting the volunteers for their “friendly and welcoming service” and praising the centre as a “very important facility, which must be kept”. Many visitors are returning week after week.

The teas are also providing great fundraising opportunities for Lymm Youth & Community Association and other local charities and community groups. Charities, School PTAs, Guides or Scouts and other local groups can “man the stall” to raise money for their organisation. The association asks for a small donation towards the running costs of the centre and the group can keep the profits raised on the day. This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of your group and you will be helping to provide an important service to the community.

If your group is interested in running the teas, please contact the centre secretary, Neville Davies on 01925 755757 or email us on info@lymmyca.org.uk.

April AGM & May EGM

Senior Socials, a Success!

The Senior Socials at Lymm Youth & Community Centre are proving to be a great success, with a record attendance at May’s social on Wednesday 19th.

Attendees enjoyed an afternoon of chat, bingo and a challenging quiz devised by Joe Griffiths, featuring images of Lymm and all sorts of other topics from chocolate bars to pensioner’s playgrounds. The refreshments, as always, were delicious, served up by volunteers from Lymm Youth & Community Association.

These free events take place every month, on the third Wednesday, as part of the exciting Bridging the Gap Project for Warrington South Stronger Together Network.

The next social takes place on Wednesday 16th June. Come along to the centre from 2-4pm for a great afternoon of entertainment, delicious refreshments and the opportunity to meet others from across Warrington South.

If you are interested in finding out more or need some assistance in getting to the event, please contact Dave Fensom on 01925 753587, who will do his best to help you.

Community Survey

Community Survey

Please support us by completing the survey.

Lymm Youth and Community Association are currently conducting a survey about our community and we need your support. Complete the survey online here: www.lymmyca.org.uk/survey.

The association aims to secure the future of Lymm Youth & Community Centre, providing and developing youth and community facilities for the people of Lymm, within the heart of the village centre. Warrington Borough Council refuses to accept that there is enough demand for these facilities and we are sure that this survey will demonstrate the need.

We are keen to ensure our community caters for all and we hope that this survey will help us identify key areas for improvement. We value your thoughts, ideas and suggestions and appreciate you giving us your time and support. Your views will help us make Lymm Youth and Community Centre work for you.

Copies will be available at Lymm Youth & Community Centre and a number of local businesses, including Burnetts Premier Stores, Rushgreen Garage and Statham McColls and you can drop your completed survey in at any of these locations. Alternatively, you can complete the survey online at http://www.lymmyca.org.uk/survey.

It should only take a few minutes to complete and your responses could make a massive difference to the future of the centre. If you provide your contact details, we will enter you into our prize draw to win a bottle of bubbly or a box of chocolates.
